What is a cloud browser, and why do AI agents use one?
A cloud browser is a web browser that runs on a remote server rather than on your own device. An AI agent uses one to open websites, read pages, fill in forms and complete tasks in an isolated session, separate from your personal browser and cookies. A good implementation streams a live view so you can watch and take over at any time.

By Pebs by NoxHow it differs from your browser
- It runs in the cloud, so the agent can keep working after you close your laptop.
- It is isolated: a fresh session per task, with its own network policy, not your cookies or saved logins.
- It is observable: the agent's actions can be streamed as a live view and audited.
What a browser agent needs to do well
- 01
Read content, not chrome
Strip menus and navigation so the model works from the actual page content.
- 02
Click reliably
Return stable selectors for elements so actions land where intended.
- 03
Handle sign-ins safely
Credentials should go into the browser through a secure path that bypasses the model entirely.
- 04
Pause before consequences
Sends, purchases and submissions should wait for a human yes.
- 05
Know when to stop
Action budgets per step prevent loops from running up cost.
The Pebs Cloud Browser
Every Pebs task gets an isolated Chromium session. A live view streams to your task page, you can take over and hand back, and sign-ins, verification codes and card details go through secure cards. Read the full description on the Cloud Browser page.
